Black Bears Come Up Short at Niagara Falls, 6-5

The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters turned back the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 6-5, at Pipe Fitters Park. Khalil Easterling, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Niagara Falls reliever Danny Snow picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Estevan Recendiz absorbed the loss. The Pipe Fitters bumped their record to 78-52 with this win.
Larry Stagg hit a 2-run triple off Estevan Recendiz in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Pipe Fitters in front, 6-5. Stagg had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
Easterling told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
