The inspired effort of Madison right fielder Ryan Cristofano was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-3, to the Wichita Wolverines. Cristofano went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Steve Saeger was credited with the save, his 8th in 11 tries. The Wolverines go to 55-98 with the win.

Kyle Goodwin had a big 2-run double for the Wolverines in the bottom of the first inning. With Wichita leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Esteban Pavon and swatted a double to right. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolverines ahead, 3-0.

Wichita manager Abel Keller commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
