Blanco Propels Marysville to 3-1 Win
|
Alex Blanco never let Pacifica get something going. The Marysville left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Monarchs to a 3-1 win. Jacob Spitler got credit for the save for Marysville. It was his 9th of the year. Pacifica, at 42-92, has lost 8 straight.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Blanco. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Monarchs. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Shamrocks, striking out 7 and scattering 2 hits over 8 innings. Blanco is now 4-12 on the season.
"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Pacifica manager Ben Bobzien.
