Third Baseman Venetz belts 2 home runs, Steals Spotlight in Niagara Falls Rout
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters firmly defeated the Kelowna Rockets, 15-3, at Pipe Fitters Park. The Niagara Falls offense was lit. Steve Venetz, for one, had a solid game. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Pipe Fitters. Niagara Falls is now 79-54, while Kelowna is 68-66.

With Niagara Falls leading 7-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Venetz came up to bat against Kelowna pitcher Dustin Thomson. Venetz hit a cutter to left for a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season put the Pipe Fitters on top, 10-1.

"We got our butts kicked," said Kelowna manager Ch'ak'iso Chaga.
