Black Bears Capture Close Win
The Fraser Valley Black Bears scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Stetson Bowl. Fraser Valley pitcher Lonnie Newcomb held his own in the contest. Reliever Tommy Spezia picked up the win. His record improves to 4-12. Jon Luciano took the loss. Fraser Valley occupies second place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division at 90-67.

Andy Walsh was the walk-off hero for Fraser Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Black Bears designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place sure got loud," said Albert Giles, the Fraser Valley manager.
