6 Straight Wins for Pipe Fitters
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters defeated the Murraysville Peacocks, 7-6, at Pipe Fitters Park. Leading the charge for Niagara Falls was center fielder Sammy Gillin. He was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Reliever Steve Hoefling picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Jared Haney, who is tied for 2nd in the RAA in saves with 29, took the loss. By defeating Murraysville, the 5th-place Pipe Fitters improved to 64-71.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Niagara Falls. That's when Larry Stagg hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jared Haney to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Murraysville skipper Joseph Kelley said.
