Cornhuskers Come Up Short at Wauwatosa, 5-4
|
The DeKalb Cornhuskers and Wauwatosa Indians left the fans buzzing.
The Wauwatosa Indians topped the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 5-4, with youngster Ed Cavanaugh playing a key role. Cavanaugh went 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the Indians in the win. Earning the save was Josh Macro. He's now cashed in 8 of 14 save opportunities.
The Indians got a big at-bat from catcher Mario Gallegos. For the game, Gallegos went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Wauwatosa a 5-4 lead.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Indians manager Matunde Kabaila.
The loss makes DeKalb 60-76.
