The Beaumont Drillers took Frisco pitcher Brendan Loos's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Outlander Park. The final score had Beaumont getting past the Rams, 4-2. Loos went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 8. The win for the Drillers lifted their record to 72-65.
Beaumont used a timely hit from Tsuneyoshi Taniguchi to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drillers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Taniguchi called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
