Beaumont Drillers starter Mike Batten found his groove in his team's 8-4 win over the Frisco Rams. Beaumont raised its record to 73-65 with the win.

Beaumont shortstop Stan Spencer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 87th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 2-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Spencer.
