Fans of the Mojave Rattlers who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Mojave win over the visiting Media Luna Marlins, 8-4. Marco Adames started for the home team against Luis Landin. Santos Betancourt earned accolades for his performance.

Mojave third baseman Fernando Lucio contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Rattlers ahead, 4-2.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Media Luna skipper Victor Garro said.
