Beats Give Manager Duarte the Brush-Off

Kingston is now without a skipper after the announcement of manager David Duarte's firing earlier today.
Sources close to the Beats are saying that Duarte had lost the confidence of the players and had allowed apathy and selfishness to take over the clubhouse.
The Kingston front office was unavailable for comment on the matter other than to confirm the manager's firing.
A BNN poll done immediately after the announcement went public showed fan reaction seems mixed.
"Glad that bum is gone," said one disgruntled fan. Several others were displeased with the decision, telling reporters, "Duarte did the best he could with the talent and money he had."
No timetable has been set by the team for announcing a replacement.

Red Wings Reliever Hurt in Off-Field Mishap

Accidents happen to everyone -- even good athletes like Rich Chavez of the Red Wings. The Estación Juanita reliever got hurt while running up the stairs yesterday and now will have to take some time off to recuperate and heal. Chavez will be sidelined for up to 11-12 months with a torn posterior cruciate ligament.
So far this year, Chavez has made 15 relief appearances with 1 save, thrown 34.2 innings and struck out 40 with a 3-4 record.

Guerrero Slaps 5 Hits
Tuesday, June 10th , 2064
No matter what the Ft. Worth Werewolves threw at him, Juan Guerrero hit it. He easily handled Werewolves pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Cougars triumph, 16-3, at Werewolves Grounds.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Guerrero's quip, Werewolves skipper Danny Koehl said he "would take him up on that next time."
Juan Guerrero hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, hit a three-run triple in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Guerrero has compiled a .277 batting average, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 17 runs. He has played in 26 games and scored 11 runs.
