Virginia Gets 12-8 Win Versus Vanderbilt in 11
The game ended in walk-off fashion, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Led by Seth Howard, the Virginia Cavaliers defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 12-8, in 11 innings. Howard was 3-6 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Cavaliers. Virginia sits at 2-1.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Howard delivered big-time for Virginia, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Jay Ocker. The game-changing hit put the Cavaliers on top, 9-8.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Howard told a reporter after the game.
