Hoosiers Beat River Falls, 2-1

The Bloomington Hoosiers took River Falls pitcher Alex Arias's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hoosiers Stadium. The final score had Bloomington getting past the Falcons, 2-1. Arias went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 13. The win was credited to 18-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Ramirez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Cesar Arana took the loss. At 8-4, the Hoosiers have played well so far.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Bloomington first baseman Willie Zapien, facing Cesar Arana, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hoosiers the 2-1 win.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said River Falls manager Ryan Cunningham.
