Bruins Suffer One-Run Loss at Fresno State
The Fresno State Bulldogs dealt the UCLA Bruins a 6-5 loss at Brooks College Grounds. Jimmy Chesnutt was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Andy Washington picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Howie suffered the loss. Jim Weddle picked up the save for Fresno State, his 1st of the year.

Chesnutt broke a deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Fresno State up, 6-5.

"Jimmy was ready to go. Big day for him," said Fresno State manager James Barnes.

The win takes Fresno State to 4-2.
