The Royal Oak Leprechauns powered past the Oak Park Architects, 9-4, at Royal Oak Field. Casey Hopper provided some of the pop. Sly went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Royal Oak reliever Angel Beltran got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Antonio Diaz was tagged with the loss. Rob Alexander was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Hector Alvarado helped out the Royal Oak cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Alvarado.
Oak Park now is 10-7.
