Sentries Need Extra Frames to Get Past Crawfish
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Springfield Sentries eventually prevailed.
Victory Lakes shortstop Ted McCoy had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Springfield at Sentries Park. McCoy was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. The loss makes Victory Lakes 8-14.
The decisive blow was delivered by Guillermo Castaneda in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Humberto Baez to win the game for Springfield. The home crowd went nuts.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Jerry Day, the Springfield manager.
