San Carlos turned a good performance from starting pitcher Edgar Diaz into a 2-1 triumph over the Bloomington Hoosiers at Pipers Grove. Edgar Rosales stitched up the save, his 1st. The loss drops Bloomington to 11-11.

San Carlos first baseman Alex Santiago contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Pipers ahead, 1-0.

"Watch and learn," said Santiago. "This is what good pitching looks like."
