Extra-Inning Win by Seminoles over Cavaliers
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Ballpark of Redwood College.

In a high-scoring contest between Florida State and Virginia, designated hitter Chris Donnelly was a difference-maker. Donnelly, who is tied for 7th in the SBL in RBI with 15, earned player of the game honors in the 10-8 Florida State win. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 triples, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Nazir Mayo got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Kyle Howes recorded the save for Florida State, his 1st of the season.

Florida State used the bat of Mitch Blankenship to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Seminoles ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.

In postgame remarks, Donnelly simply said: "Here's to a great win!"

Florida State is 5-7 and Virginia, with the loss, 4-8.
