de Arcos Hurls No-Hitter
Ft. Worth Werewolves starter Fidel de Arcos said he was standing behind the mound when the scoreboard caught his eye, confirming what he already knew: He was one out from a no-hitter. For a couple of seconds, he didn't move.

"I took a breath and told myself 'This is the last one,'" de Arcos recalled.

The right-hander collected himself, got the final out, and finished one of the greatest performances of his career.

The Ft. Worth right-hander no-hit the Mojave Rattlers, 3-0, at Werewolves Grounds, finishing with 3 walks and 12 strikeouts, facing only 30 batters.

"I knew for a while it was a no-hitter," de Arcos admitted later. "But I really didn't worry about it until the last out. I thought I just wanted to win the game, and then I realized I wanted the no-hitter, too."

On the season, de Arcos has compiled a 2-3 mark with a 6.59 ERA in 6 starts. In pitching 41 innings he has 47 strikeouts and 27 walks while limiting the opposition to a .258 batting average.
