|
Aiken starter Jose Salazar kept the San Carlos hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 11-1. Salazar, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Now 4-22, the 2064 Pipers have been dreadful.
In the bottom of the first, 21-year old third baseman Roberto Acosta hit a 2-run home run. The 3rd home run of the season for the Aiken right fielder put the Thoroughbreds on top, 2-0.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Chris Santacroce.
