Santa Clara Pockets 7-1 Win Over Saint John
Pitcher Henry Barahona was sensational for the Santa Clara Vampyres in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Saint John Alpines. Barahona earned the win. Despite the loss, Saint John still owns an impressive 22-5 record.

Julio Martinez had a big 3-run home run for the Vampyres in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Santa Clara leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Edgar Pedro and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Vampyres on top, 5-0.

Said losing manager Clarence Byrd: "Give the Vampyres credit. They played a better game than we did."
