Cucamonga Lose By a Run at Cuautitlan Izcalli

Rancho catcher Eduardo Espinosa had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Espinosa was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as Cuautitlan Izcalli beat the Cucamonga, 5-4. Edwin Palacios earned the save for Cuautitlan Izcalli. Rancho drops to 9-18.
Jose Cortez was 1-2 with a hit by pitch for Cuautitlan Izcalli. The 20-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Willie Ochoa. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Rancho manager Tony Vargas.
