Mississippi State Edges LSU, 4-3, Underwood Ks 9

The Mississippi State Bulldogs did just enough to sneak past the LSU Tigers, 4-3, at South Paris College Grounds. Mississippi State pitcher Dakota Underwood earned player of the game honors. Dale Chenault was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Bulldogs bumped their record to 10-8 with this latest triumph.
Underwood, who was born in New York, threw 80 pitches over 5.1 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Mississippi State manager Eddie Cassidy.
