Things keep getting worse for Kingston.
The Saint John Alpines used an offensive barrage to beat the Kingston Beats, 12-0, at Alpines Field. Luis Camacho, who is tied for 7th in the RLA in home runs with 10, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Saint John. Edgar Pedro, the winner, goes to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
Al Ceja went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Saint John. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Juan Cruz. It was his 14th walk of the season.
"Bad luck's the only luck we've had," said Kingston manager David Duarte.
The losses continue to pile up for Kingston, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
