Thompson Handcuffs Apples, Five O's Seize 2-1 Advantage in R1
|
The Oconomowoc Five O's got a strong performance from pitcher Ray Thompson, who stymied the Carmel offense en route to a 4-0 win in Game 3 of the Single A League Championship. The Apples could never get a bead on the right-handed Thompson, who threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The Five O's now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
In his 104-pitch effort, Thompson allowed no runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 13.
Oconomowoc manager Evan Thorne praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arnold Field in Oconomowoc.
