Road Win Lifts Toronto to 3-2 Lead in R1
The Toronto Blue Jays moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the Aiken Thoroughbreds on the road at Aiken Stadium by a score of 7-4. Blue Jays second baseman Butch Laramie went 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The win gives the Blue Jays a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Ken Currie drew 1 walk in 2 plate appearances for Toronto. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Currie had a clutch at-bat. Facing Aiken hurler Mel Reyes, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Laramie.
