Almost There: Montreal On Cusp of R2 Triumph After 3-2 Win
The Montreal Mounties moved to within one game of the League Pennant, downing the Quebec Armada on the road at Lucky 7 Ballpark by a score of 3-2. Mounties right-hander Sandy Briseno had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Mounties a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Montreal won the game in part because of Chris Elliott. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 3-2. For the game, Elliott had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Briseno said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lucky 7 Ballpark in Quebec City.
