Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Matt Saxton, the Walnut Creek Warriors stopped the visiting Asheville Moonshiners, 8-3, in Game 2 of the League Pennant. Saxton was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Warriors, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.

Saxton contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Walnut Creek get the win.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Saxton.

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at The Still in Asheville.
