Reyes Helps Florida State Outscore Clemson
|
Behind a fine performance from Salvatore Reyes, the Florida State Seminoles knocked off the Clemson Tigers, 15-12. Reyes went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Seminoles. Danny Hernandez earned the save, his 2nd, for the Seminoles. The 16th-place Tigers have lost 4 straight games.
Ray Dyson had a big grand slam home run for the Seminoles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Florida State trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher John Rodgers and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Seminoles on top, 5-2.
"Swingers' gonna swing," said Reyes, after the high-scoring affair.
