Win Lifts Sentries to 28-20
|
The exploits of right fielder Timo de Munnik, who is tied for 9th in the TLA with a 1.111 OPS, helped the Springfield Sentries defeat the River Falls Falcons, 6-2. de Munnik went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Manny Becerra in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Tim Dalbec took the loss. Jordan Campos got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricardo Lozada? The Springfield second baseman had a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put the Sentries on top, 3-0. For the game, Lozada had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
de Munnik told a Springfield News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The win puts Springfield at 28-20 this season.
