The Aiken Thoroughbreds picked up a win at Crawfish Grounds, downing the Victory Lakes Crawfish, 8-3. On the mound for Aiken was right-hander Joe Bean, who played a pivotal role in the win. Aiken has now won 6 games in a row.

Aiken used a well-timed hit by Jerry Lasso to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thoroughbreds ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Thoroughbreds manager Bobby Hobbs.
