TCU pitcher Andy Chavez gave the Owls all they could handle, but in the end, Rice left Dingoes Ballpark with a 2-1 win. Chavez allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6 innings. Dylan Richardson recorded the save for Rice, his 5th of the season. With the victory, the Owls record now stands at 10-18.
Peter Sterling had a big at-bat in the top of the seventh inning for the Owls. With his team down, 1-0, the pinch hitter hit a 2-run home run, to put Rice ahead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sterling said.
