Kingston Beats Brighton, 6-2
|
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at Beats Park.
The Beats grabbed a win, 6-2, at Beats Park, overcoming a fine effort from Brighton pitcher Walt Malone. Malone went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Diego Alanis earned the save for Kingston.
Francisco Cotto drew 1 walk for Kingston. The 19-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Danny Pepin. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Cotto.
Kingston, with the win, is 13-41.
