Santos Stars in 14-9 Maulers Win
The Martinsburg Maulers topped the River Falls Falcons, 14-9, with youngster Sandy Santos playing a key role. Santos was 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Maulers in the win. Jorge Vega notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The Maulers saw their record improve to 35-27.

Martinsburg used a clutch at-bat from Hector Barrios to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Maulers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Santos, cracking a smile.
