Oak Park Edges Toronto, 6-5
|
The Oak Park Architects withstood an impressive performance by Toronto second baseman Dan Wooten to defeat the Blue Jays, 6-5, at Oak Park Stadium. Wooten went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jaylen Jefferson closed out the game, earning his 1st save. Oak Park now has a record of 39-25 with the win.
The Architects beat the Blue Jays in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Trevor Russo produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Justin Payne, Russo gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Russo said after the game.
