The Rancho Cucamonga picked up a win at Surrey Field, courtesy of Ricky Gonzalez. The right-hander helped his team stop the Surrey Thunderbirds, 3-2. In 7.1 innings, Gonzalez surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Rancho, at 23-43, sits in 5th place in the TML LA West Division.
Danny Castaneda, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2064 draft, helped out the Rancho cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Rancho manager Tony Vargas said.
