Cougars Suffer 6-2 Loss to Tigers
|
The LSU Tigers topped the Houston Cougars, 6-2, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Suns Ballpark. The player of the game was LSU pitcher and North Smithfield, Rhode Island native Josh Brown. Nate Heide finished the game for LSU and earned his 9th save. With the win, LSU has a record of 15-22. Houston falls to 23-14.
It could have been a different outcome for LSU, had it not been for Ryan Schmidle, the 21-year old center fielder . Schmidle contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put LSU up, 1-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Brown said.
