Espinoza, Alpines Humble Cucamonga, 15-1
|
Benefiting from Jose Espinoza's productive game, the Saint John Alpines downed the Rancho Cucamonga, 15-1. Espinoza was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6 for the Alpines. The losses continue to pile up for Rancho, which has now fallen 20 times in a row.
Espinoza contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Saint John in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Espinoza took a fastball from Kevin Villarreal and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Alpines to leap in front, 4-1.
"No one likes losing," said Rancho manager Tony Vargas. "But we'll turn this thing around."
