Oak Park Earns 6-5 Win
|
The Oak Park Architects extended their winning streak.
Oak Park beat Mojave at Rattlers Field, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Jorge Rivera. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ross Lane finished to wrap up his 18th save.
Oak Park needed the clutch hitting of Mark Corey to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Architects on top, 6-5. For the game, Corey had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Rivera told the Oak Park Herald.
The second-place Architects have won 9 in a row.
