Big Day with Bat: Hedden 5-for-6
5 times is the charm -- at least for John Hedden.

The Kansas Jayhawks left fielder tore up the Virginia Cavaliers to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Ballpark of Redwood College. The offensive onslaught from Hedden powered the 32-9 Jayhawks win.

"Hedden was a tough out," Virginia manager Vicente Vargas said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

John Hedden hit a solo-shot off Justin Upshur in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, walked in a run in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Tom Matney in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

So far this year in 38 games, Hedden is hitting .297 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
