The Victoria Cougars topped the Bloomington Hoosiers, 5-4, with youngster Alan Lewis playing a key role. Lewis went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Cougars in the win. The save went to Joe Pierce, his 21st this season. Victoria's winning streak has reached 10 games.

Victoria took a 4-3 lead on Aleixos Gouveia's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gouveia hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bloomington pitcher Luis Ramirez visibly frustrated.

"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Gouveia told the Victoria Herald.
