People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

Despite the exploits of third baseman Rodolfo Salinas, the Arlington Stars were beaten by the Aiken Thoroughbreds, 10-9, in 11 innings. Salinas went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Alex Charco, who is tied for 3rd in the TLA in saves with 12, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 7-4.

The Thoroughbreds got a clutch hit from right fielder Ignacio Montoya. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Thoroughbreds.

"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Montoya said later.

The Thoroughbreds sport a record of 59-15.
