Multi-HR Game for Adams in 9-5 Win
|
The Iowa State Cyclones defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, 9-5, in Skip Bertman League action at Forney College Grounds, with Iowa State right fielder Gary Adams named player of the game. Iowa State reliever Jesus Garcia got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Nick Clausen was tagged with the loss. Iowa State is 23rd in the Ron Fraser Division with a record of 15-25.
Adams had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Nick Clausen, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Cyclones a 9-5 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Adams.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Adams told the Iowa State Bulletin.
