Aiken catcher Shigeo Iguchi was sensational. He went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Brighton beat the Thoroughbreds, 9-5. Brighton reliever Alex Gomez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ruben Garcia. The Steelhounds own a robust 48-28 mark.

Ricky Negron drew 1 walk for Brighton. The 19-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ruben Garcia. It was his 1st walk of the season.
