Big Day by Rummer Ignites Blue Jays Win
|
Blue Jays left fielder Adam Rummer left his mark on his team's 6-2 win over the Surrey Thunderbirds. Rummer, who leads the TLA with a 1.604 OPS, went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for Toronto in the contest. Toronto is sitting pretty at 69-8.
It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Mike Shain, the 22-year old shortstop . Shain contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Toronto up, 3-0.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Toronto skipper Bryan Fulcher.
