Big Day for Wooten in 9-2 Blue Jays Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays thumped the Santa Clara Vampyres, 9-2, at Exhibition Stadium. Dan Wooten was a big reason his team got the win. Wooten went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Toronto has now won 3 in a row.
With Toronto leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Wooten hit a cutter from Bob Kavanagh for a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 6-0.
"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Dan Steiner.
