The Saint John Alpines had to weather a strong performance from Victory Lakes pitcher Arturo Olivera before claiming a 3-1 win in 10 innings. Olivera went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Luis Palacios, his 8th. Saint John sits in first place in the RCL LA West Division at 63-16.

Luis Ramirez delivered a big hit for Saint John. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Alpines ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Saint John manager Clarence Byrd. "It's usually not just one thing."
