German Salazar was instrumental in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Vanderbilt Commodores. The designated hitter went 4-6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas reliever Rich Sheward snagged the win, upping his record to 4-0. John Wilson shouldered the loss. Bryan Brawner earned save number 6 this season.

Chris Whitt aided the Arkansas cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 2.
