The Springfield Sentries powered past the Royal Oak Leprechauns, 11-6, at Royal Oak Field. Willie Valverde went 3-3 with 2 home runs, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Springfield reliever Danny Carabello picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Antonio Salazar was saddled with the loss.

Greg Johnson came through with a big-time hit for Springfield. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 9-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Valverde said after the game.

Springfield now sports a record of 34-49.
