Cougars Done In By Falcons, 5-3
|
River Falls picked up a win at Falcons Field, bumping off the Victoria Cougars, 5-3. Pitcher Tim Dalbec was a major reason the Falcons emerged victorious. Their 38-47 record puts the Falcons 4th in the TML LA East Division.
Monty Sexton had a big 3-run home run for the Falcons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With River Falls leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Torres and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Falcons on top, 5-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Dalbec. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
