Boone Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Alpines Win, 7-4
|
The Saint John Alpines grabbed a win, 7-4, over the Mojave Rattlers at Rattlers Field. Saint John right fielder Jamie Boone hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The first-place Alpines improved to 64-23.
Boone had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 slider from Jose Alegria, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Alpines a 7-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Boone.
"Feels good to get the job done," Boone said after the game.
